Groomer Shed Update for October 6, 2020
Hello fellow Sno-mads,
Well, we had another great week of groomer shed build progress. This
past Saturday we had 12 eager volunteers and so we were able to sheath
the remainder of the building which included the east and south walls.
We also were able to complete the landing for the outside stairway and
installed the electronic operators for the overhead doors. With all
the progress we only need to complete the outside trim on the building
and install the two rear entrance doors in order to fully enclose the
building. Thanks once again to Nopiming Lodge for providing breakfast
for the volunteers.
We anticipate the remaining building materials will be delivered this
week, which includes wall insulation and sheet metal/drywall for the
building's interior. Unfortunately we can’t start finishing the
interior until it passes structural inspection which may take several
weeks. Don’t worry there is still a lot to do this coming Saturday.
The plan is to finish the outside trim and to work on a new trail at
the groomer shed area. Anyone coming out to help clear the trail is
welcome to take some of the wood. The plan is to once again start at
8:00 am. Also we are looking for volunteers next week to help with
electrical wiring installation. Anyone able to help during the week
please contact Rene Ritchot at (204) 510-1888.
We also received good news from Snoman that our grooming kilometres
will be paid out this week. This year we are being paid out at $16 per
km which is slightly higher than was paid out last year. With having
achieved 85.6% of our allowable grooming kilometres we are in good
shape to complete the groomer shed and set aside the necessary
operating funds for the 2021 season.
Please don’t forget about membership renewal and Snoman raffle tickets
as these are important elements in keeping our club financially
